Paramount Communications to Set Up ₹250 Cr Cable Plant in MP, Eyes Export Windfall from US Tariffs

“Wiring Growth, Plugging into Global Markets”

New Cable Manufacturing Plant in Madhya Pradesh

Paramount Communications Ltd, a Delhi-based cable manufacturer, plans to invest ₹250 crore in a new facility in Madhya Pradesh. The plant will be located on 31 acres of industrial land at Narmadapuram Industrial State, allocated by the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC).

This new facility will produce both Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC) cables. The company expects commercial production to begin by December 2026, with full operations targeted for FY27.

US Export Strategy Gains Momentum

Paramount is also seeing strong momentum in its exports to the United States. In calendar year 2024, the company exported cables worth USD 43 million to the US, marking a 36% year-on-year growth.

Management aims to raise the US market’s contribution to total revenue to 40% in the coming years.

US Tariffs Offer Strategic Advantage

New US tariffs could boost Paramount’s global competitiveness. The Trump administration recently imposed a 25% tariff on cable imports from Mexico and Canada. These countries are among the top exporters of products similar to Paramount’s.

The tariff increases costs for US-based buyers sourcing from these regions, which could make Indian products more attractive. Additionally, US manufacturers importing aluminum from Canada may also face higher input costs. This could improve the pricing advantage of Paramount’s aluminum-based cables.

Long-Term Growth Outlook

The company has set a target to grow its topline at a 30% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over the next five years. Paramount aims to cross ₹5,000 crore in revenue by FY30. The new MP plant will play a major role in driving this growth, expanding capacity and supporting exports.

About Paramount Communications

Also known as Paramount Cables, the company manufactures a wide range of products. These include Railway Cables, High and Low Voltage Power Cables, Fire Survival Cables, Optical Fiber Cables, and Telecom Cables. It currently operates two plants in Khushkhera, Rajasthan, and Dharuhera, Haryana.

Investors: Knowing What Not to Do

Matters More Than Knowing What to Do

In investing, returns often improve naturally when common mistakes are avoided. Over time, by observing and interacting with many investors, certain behavioral patterns clearly stand out. These traits usually indicate investors who struggle to succeed in the stock market.

  • Investors who panic easily and sell as soon as markets fall slightly.
  • Those who lack patience and expect fast results.
  • People who treat the stock market like a gambling platform instead of investing in real businesses.
  • Investors who borrow money to invest, especially during bull markets.
  • Individuals who book profits too early without letting investments grow.
  • Overactive traders who frequently buy and sell but believe they are long-term investors.
  • Emotional investors whose decisions are driven by market noise or personal life situations.
  • People who focus more on lifestyle display and status rather than disciplined wealth building.
  • Investors with irregular income who fail to invest consistently, limiting the power of compounding over time.
  • Those who stop learning after making some money and lose the drive to grow further.
  • Investors who blindly follow tips from social media, influencers, or news without doing their own research.
  • People who don’t review their mistakes and keep repeating the same errors.
  • Those who ignore risk management and invest without understanding downside possibilities.
  • Investors who constantly compare their returns with others and make impulsive changes.
  • People who have no long-term plan and keep changing strategies every few months.

Often, it’s the blind spots we are unaware of that lead to disappointing outcomes. If you recognize any of these traits in yourself, working on them can make a big difference. Stock market investing is a journey of learning first and earning later. Unfortunately, many investors try to earn first and learn later.
